Appointment of Adjudicator:
The Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and The Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) require the provincial government to appoint an adjudicator as an independent officer of the Assembly. Role of the Adjudicator:
Following a reference from the Ombudsman, the adjudicator is required to hold a written or oral hearing and make an order on the issue referred. Types of orders that may be made can be found at FIPPA section 66.8 and PHIA section 48.8.
